The Lack of Commitments, hard working, saviours of soul are back at The Quarter with the eleven-piece band – four charismatic lead singers, a brass section, drums, bass, guitar and keyboards.

The mission; bring to life the music of the greatest fictional soul band in the world The Commitments.

Sets feature heartfelt tribute to the songs and the band of the acclaimed film The Commitments with the very best music from the film and the two subsequent soundtrack albums. You’ll hear classic tunes from artists such as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Joe Tex and Percy Sledge. Nowhere to Run, Take Me to the River, Destination Anywhere, Hard to Handle, Mr Pitiful, I Never Loved a Man, Show Me, Try a Little Tenderness, I Can’t Stand the Rain and the inimitable Mustang Sally. If thats not enough you will will also get to enjoy some high energy soul and motown classics. They’ve plundered the soul archives and plucked out the very best Stax, Atlantic, Motown, Detroit and Chicago soul classics to keep the party going. James Brown, The Marvelettes, The O’Jays, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Jackie Wilson and Signed, Sealed, Delivered!

Formed in 2017 by a collective of passionate musicians dedicated to replicating the unparalleled sound of The Commitments, ‘The Lack of Commitments’ quickly established itself as a must-see act on the UK tribute circuit. Their meticulous attention to detail, from the authentic arrangements to the soulful vocal harmonies and powerful brass lines, ensures a show that is not just a performance, but an immersive experience. Having performed at venues such as Rhodehouse, Empire, The Diamond, Stramash, Granvilles and with the Rock and Bowl, Staffs Fest, Stone Live, Edinburgh Festival and two five date tours of Cyprus under their belts, they consistently leave audiences dancing and singing along to every beloved hit, from ‘Mustang Sally’ to ‘Try a Little Tenderness’. Their dynamic stage presence and commitment to high-energy interaction make them a perfect fit for any festival seeking to ignite a crowd with the timeless appeal of sweet soul music.
